I craft narratives that connect generations by building compassion, consciousness, and confidence.

As the granddaughter of a Jamaican matriarch named Sylvia, I live in the legacy of storytelling — it is not just what I do, it is who I am. I believe in the art of shaping narratives, real or imagined, in ways that connect story, power, and place. Our stories will outlive us and shape everything. 

I show up as a storyteller on the page, on the stage, and in the spaces in between. Through writing and publishing children's literature, live storytelling events, curated libraries, and podcasting, I craft and curate compelling narratives that serve as pathways, practices, and invitations for audiences to see themselves, their communities, and their world more fully.

I step on to every stage with the intention of compelling engagement and collective growth.

Grounded in the belief that the best speakers do not just inform but transform, I bring my full self to every stage, panel, and platform — meeting audiences exactly where they are and moving them toward where they could be. 

Whether delivering keynotes and panel presentations that center the audience's experience; coaching founders and entrepreneurs on their storytelling; or holding space with intention and care — my goal is to always let our stories shape us.

Stewardship

I bridge the gaps in neighborhood work by centering lived experience and co-build systems of care that meet our collective needs.

To steward means to honor responsibility with integrity, care, and purpose. I specialize in holding liminal space — a channel of transition — that supports the flow of resources from where they are to where they will flourish. Whether I am grant writing for neighborhood organizations or managing grant redistribution for national foundations, I honor the responsibility of these resources — financial, environmental, community, and cultural — with ethical, sustainable practices rooted in dignity, community, and love to meet our material and non-material needs.

    Through my consulting business– Angel S. Brown Consulting, LLC– I celebrate being a multi-hyphenate creative through an approach rooted in dignity, community, and love. Whether I am crafting stories that connect generations, creating spaces where collective growth becomes possible, or bridging the gap between philanthropists and the communities they serve — my work is guided by a single conviction: that the stories we tell, the spaces we hold, and the resources we steward have the power to shape self-determined futures.

    This work is personal. As the child of immigrants and the granddaughter of a Jamaican matriarch, I know what it means to carry a legacy — and to choose, intentionally, what you pass on. I founded ASB Consulting to partner with those who are ready to do the same.

  • A very difficult question for an avid reader and storyteller– there are too many beautiful stories to name just one!. The book that inspires me most is As I Remember It by Winsome Carroll (My Aunt’s self-published memoir and anthology of memories from Jamaica that she audaciously self-published at 75).The first two picture books I fell in love with were included So Much by Trish Cooke and Helen Oxbury and Mirandy and Brother Wind by Patricia McKissack and Jerry Pinkney. Thank You, Omu by Oge Mora and Ada Twist, Scientist by Adrea Beatty and David Roberts stay on my storytime read-aloud list. Me and Mama by Cozbi A. Cabrera and I am Every Good Thing by Derrick Barnes and Gordon C. James brightens my soul after every read. 


    I do read adult books too! I’m still not over Pachinko by Min Jin Lee, Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and Matrescence: On Pregnancy, Birth, and Motherhood by Lucy Jones.

  • My stories and writing for children and adults centers crafting stories that spark compassion, confidence, and consciousness in my audience. My creative fiction and non-fiction work explores the chaotic, poetic, and comical realities of multigenerational households, cultural traditions, and identity. My neighborhood stewardship work co-builds systems of care with those who have the lived experience to know how to meet material and non-material needs.
